Soapstone is a metamorphic rock consisting essentially of talc and containing a variety of minerals including mica, chlorite, pyroxene, amphibole, quartz, calcite and iron oxide. Colors range from white to green ash and dark green. In China, there are mainly two colors of soapstones. One is in grey and the other is in white. These are widely used for whisky stones.
