What is Talc? Talc, also known as Hydrated Magnesium Silicate, has the theoretical chemical formula Mg3(SiO4)(OH)2. Its composition typically consists of MgO 31.68%, SiO2 63.47%, and H2O 4.25%.
Physical Characteristics: Talc exists in five primary colors: white, light blue, light pink, light grey, and black. It is the softest mineral with a hardness of 1, a density of 2.7g/cm³, and exhibits a slippery, lamellar structure.
