Is sintered stone resistant to high temperatures?
Yes, it is highly fire-resistant and heat-resistant. It can withstand temperatures up to 1280ºC without scorching or cracking, making it ideal for kitchen countertops.
How hard is the material? Will it scratch easily?
Sintered stone has a Mohs hardness exceeding level 6. It is extremely wear-resistant and scratch-resistant, making it suitable for high-traffic commercial and residential areas.
Is it safe for food preparation?
Absolutely. Sintered stone is non-toxic, harmless, and food-grade certified. Its non-porous surface prevents bacterial growth and is safe for direct food contact.
Can it be used for outdoor applications?
Yes, it is unaffected by environment and temperature changes. Its low water absorption and UV resistance make it perfect for outdoor walls, floors, and kitchen islands.
What maintenance is required for sintered stone?
Due to its extremely low water absorption, it is very easy to clean. Most spills can be wiped away with a damp cloth and mild detergent. It does not require sealing like natural stone.
